Self Help Hypnosis and the Placebo Effect |

Many research psychologists claim that self help hypnosis does not work. There are various forms of self help out there: depression self help, self help for anxiety and depression, alcoholism self help, and purely anxiety self help.
Self help hypnosis is a field that needs more research to be done. Studies have shown that hypnosis with an actual hypnotist are relevant. However, self help hypnosis is a form of self help whose validity has been argued.
Whether self help hypnosis in itself works or not is not truly the question. Many people claim that self help hypnosis truly works, but this may be the result of the placebo effect. The placebo effect has shown that believing in something to work may in turn impact the result in a positive manner. Basically, if you believe something will happen, it will. Many people claim that the positive effects of self help hypnosis may actually be a placebo effect.
Therefore, the question I pose is, do you think self help hypnosis is all right, even if it's the placebo effect that is truly making the result happen?
