This program specializes in alcoholism self help for individuals for whom AA is not a workable option. The basic tenet of Rational Recovery is that people can get a grip on their addictions without having to use the AA tools, and the Rational Recovery program is there to help them with alcoholism self help on their own. This group does not support intervention by friends or family members, and they believe that individuals have the capacity, through self discipline and self determination to heal themselves of this addiction.
