The very concept of self help for anxiety and depression seems to be contradictory; if some one is depressed they are stuck in a state of mind that disables their higher consciousness. In such a state seeking depression self help wouldn’t normally come up. The only way someone might come across self help for anxiety and depression is if someone else tells them they need help. And even at that point the depressed person can’t really understand what’s being said to them. I don’t believe a person can “think” their way out of depression. They just have to “do” it. All the thinking about it and reading and going to therapy can only lead a person to the brink of peace. This is depression self help; it is anxiety self help. Whenever a person has read and heard and thought about self help for anxiety and depression and they are sitting there with all of the information the only thing that is stopping them from being happy is there unwillingness to be happy and give up the negative state of mind that breeds these psychological states. You just have to overcome unreasonable feelings of fear and worry and will yourself to dwell on good feelings of happiness, satisfaction and peace. That’s the answer you come up with when you pursue self help for anxiety and depression. That’s always going to be the answer: no one and no thought or no prayer will solve your depression; only your willful practice of confident, satisfied and happy thinking will overcome depression forever.
