Some people become apprehensive towards the idea of self help hypnosis because the have seen people bark like dogs while under hypnosis. However, self help hypnosis has nothing to do with barking like a dog or clucking like a chicken. Self help hypnosis is all about searching deep into your subconscious to make permanent changes. There are many books on self help for anxiety and depression that make use of self hypnosis to try and "cure" these ailments. What people don't know is that their subconscious is one of the most powerful "bosses" out there. People's subconscious has the power to make their bodies do and behave in ways that are unplanned and at time undesired and this is where self help hypnosis comes in. Self help hypnosis tries to reprogram this "boss" so that it begins giving your body the directions that you tell it. For example, in anxiety self help books they teach people to go into a state of self hypnosis and convince their subconscious that the anxiety and depression is not there anymore. During self help hypnosis you learn to relax your body and mind until you go into a state of self hypnosis. During the second part of the self help hypnosis, you will use imagery and affirmations to reprogram your subconscious. Once you do this then you very slowly get yourself out of the state of hypnosis. The process of self help hypnosis must be repeated on a daily basis since it might take a while for your subconscious to take hold of the new orders. If you do this right not only can you get over certain ailments, you will find yourself in a more relaxed state and it might even increase your IQ. So look for a book on self help hypnosis and begin to change your life!
