Faith-based counseling comes from a Biblical view of God, man, sin, and sanctity. The Christian counselor must be a follower of God and Jesus Christ. God's wise Word is the basis of his views. Christian counseling, unlike other methods of helping, deals with the entire person: spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Yet, even within this style of counseling, there are different approaches or techniques. Jesus dealt with people differently: He was kind, but could be stern. Faith-based counselors seek a balanced view between personal responsibility of the client for his actions and the effects of his sin in the world.
