Christian counseling makes very special demands on the counselor. He or she must not only be a devout Christian, that person must also be knowledgeable about such important issues as credit, investing, mortgages, tax laws and other financial issues. And aside from base monetary concerns, the effective Christian counselor must possess keen insights into marriage, relationships, sexuality and every important aspect of life that affects Christian couples. Knowledge of modern psychological techniques is important as well, because Christian Counselors may have to deal with their own depression, anxiety issues, self-esteem issues, and of course, the all-important relationship with the Creator.
